2025 Is Here

A new year is a time to look ahead, so this month we asked our members their thoughts and hopes for what is next for independent schools.

“In 2025, I hope our students

will be engaged by our educators in a manner that fosters their holistic growth. This includes encouraging them to cultivate a sense of curiosity towards the world around them, develop their ability think critically and independently, build their self-confidence, and engage in reflection that leads to continual self-improvement.”

“In 2025, I hope our students

embrace this moment and never stop imagining the future is possible.”

What are you looking forward to in 2025?

Jessica Tingling, Library Director
Berkshire School | Sheffield, MA

“I'm looking forward to new literacy lessons and literacy escape rooms. It's wonderful to engage with students and to see their excitement when they find an exceptional source or write a perfect citation. Oh, and new books! Reading as many exceptional new books and classic favorites as I can. Books open our minds and guide us through the unknown.”

Anela Kruščica
Director of Equity and Belonging
The Derryfield School | Manchester, NH

“As someone who once lived in the uncertainty of refugee camps, I hold a deep appreciation for the value of belonging. The journey from displacement to finding a place where one is valued, seen, and respected has shaped how I view the world.

In 2025, I look forward to seeing more schools, including those in the AISNE network, continuing their work to create spaces where every individual—regardless of background, identity, or experience—feels truly included and accepted. I am hopeful for the future of education, and for the future we will continue to build together, with humility, empathy, and a commitment to inclusion for all.”
