FAQs

Will Dr. Kendi's live talk be recorded?

Yes. Dr. Kendi's 5:00 - 6:00 p.m. EST talk will be recorded.

When will the recording be available, for how long, and can I share it?

The recording will be made available to registered attendees shortly after our event on March 3rd.

  • It will be available for 30 days.
  • It will be intended to be viewed by registered event attendees only.
  • It is not to be shared, copied or clipped in any way.
  • It is not to be broadcast to a group of any size.
  • These are the terms defined by Dr. Kendi and his speaking agency. It is crucial our community honors these terms.

What will be the format of Dr. Kendi's 5:00 - 6:00 p.m. EST talk?

A pre-coordinated group of AISNE Community Members will ask Dr. Kendi questions during this hour and he will provide insights, thoughts and reflections.

Our individual registration form invites your community members to share questions and ideas on their minds for Dr. Kendi. These submissions, as well as AISNE Community Member Planning Committee experiences and expertise are informing the preparation of the content plan for this hour.

How will the facilitated AISNE Community Conversations and Affinity Spaces following Dr. Kendi's talk work?

AISNE Community Members are facilitating optional 45-minute conversations and affinity spaces, 6:15 - 7:00 p.m. EST and 7:15 - 8:00 p.m. EST, following Dr. Kendi's talk.

  • There will be options for faculty and staff serving students ages early childhood through high school, school administrators, heads of school and principals, and board members. There will also be options for parents and guardians of students ages early childhood through high school, as well as affinity spaces for faculty, staff and administrators of color, and parents and guardians of color.
    • Each participant of each of these sessions should identify from the "I" perspective with the identity or affinity of the group. For example, if you join the session for elementary faculty, you yourself should be a faculty member serving elementary-age students. This will ensure true peer group experiences.
    • Each participant is asked to please respect and follow our Group Norms.
  • These conversations and affinity spaces are special opportunities for members of your community to come together with peers from 100+ schools across New England, to reflect together on Dr. Kendi's message and discuss going beyond an awareness of racism to contribute to the formation

of a truly just and equitable society.

How will registrants access the event?

Closer to the event, AISNE will provide registrants with a link to a password-accessible web page. This page will summarize links to access Dr. Kendi's talk as well as our facilitated AISNE Community Conversations and Affinity Spaces.

This page will also summarize resources curated and organized by AISNE and our community member facilitators.
